How To Keep That Fitness Bootcamp Figure
If you have completed your fitness bootcamp and are wondering how to maintain your new figure the answer is to continue attending classes. You don’t have to go every day but if you go to two or three classes a week you should have no problem staying fit and healthy. Most bootcamp graduates enjoy the experience so much they sign up for the next class on the last day of their previous camp!
You can also employ these five top tips to help keep the excess pounds at bay:
1) Stop eating when you are full
Too many of us were brought up to clear our plates which means many of us overeat and this can lead to weight problems. Listen to your body and stop eating when you are full. You will gradually be able to reduce your portion size without feeling hungry. Don’t skip meals as that will only slow down your metabolism making it harder to shift excess pounds. Start every meal with a glass of water so that you don’t mistake thirst for feeling hungry.
2) Make friends with your vegetables
Although the guidelines are to eat at least five portions of fruit and vegetables a day, you should be eating seven to nine portions of which only one should be fruit. Fruit contains a lot of natural sugar. This is better for you than the processed variety but it can still play havoc with your blood sugar levels. As your fitness bootcamp instructor should have explained, blood sugar rushes can cause food cravings. Most vegetables don’t have the same effect, they are very low in calories and high in fiber. They also contain a range of vital nutrients making them the perfect food to help keep you healthy, fit and in good shape.
3) Avoid sugar like the plague
Sugar is your enemy and needs to be avoided as much as possible. This is easier said than done as sugar has many different names when used by the food manufacturing industry. Try to cook your meals from scratch and avoid having flavored waters or sodas. If you are going to drink alcohol, stick to champagne, vodka or gin but be sensible about the quantity. Don’t swap sweeteners for sugar – if you have to use something sugar is actually the healthier option given the type of additives used in sweeteners.
4) Avoid diet products
Although most diet products are low in calories they can be quite high in sugar so avoid them when trying to follow a healthy eating plan. This includes all the diet drinks and energy bars. You don’t need these products regardless of what the advertising companies would have you believe. Your fitness bootcamp instructor can help you to design an eating plan to suit your tastes and lifestyle. You do not need a branded range of products or milkshake type drinks to lose weight. A sensible eating plan is much easier to stick to and works a lot better in the long run.

5) Allow yourself the odd blow out
If you fall off the diet wagon or miss the odd fitness bootcamp session, don’t decide that it is over and start binge eating. A slice of chocolate cake never killed anyone and so long as you don’t get into the habit of eating it every day, it is not a big deal. Try not to deprive yourself of everything you like to eat or you will just set yourself up for a big fall. It is best to have the odd treat and enjoy it then continuously craving all the stuff that is bad for you.
You can gain and keep a fit body regardless of your current weight or fitness level. Attending the right fitness bootcamp can change your entire life from the type of exercise you do to the type of food you eat. Why not give it a go today and see how different you look and feel in a months time. What do you have to lose apart from a dress size or two?
